Spanning the majestic Zambezi River, and bordering on two countries – Zambia and Zimbabwe, it’s easy to see why this natural wonder is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.  The Victoria Falls are neither the highest nor the widest, however, they are classified as the largest waterfall in the world, based on their width of 1,708 metres and their height of 108 metres. This results in the falls being the largest sheet of falling water in the world. The Victoria Falls are also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders).
